Sausage, Pepper & Onions on the Weber

This Q3000 Weber is awesome. I cooked up a bunch of sausage with a side of peppers and onions. The sausages themselves were the hot Italian variety which I purchased at Costco.

Five of the Best Small Gas Grills Under $350

!±8± Five of the Best Small Gas Grills Under 0

Given a choice, every man I know would want nothing less than a built-in grill, complete with a cooking island in the backyard. However, not all of us can afford such luxuries. Sometimes you may not have the budget for a big grill, sometimes the space may be a constraint, while sometimes you may just want something small enough to fit on a RV or boat. But small doesn't have to imply inferior; rather, as the small gas grills on this list prove, small can still be very mighty.

Best Small Gas Grills Under 0

1. Weber Q300
Any Weber grill comes with a distinct pedigree, and the Q300 definitely lives up to the manufacturer's reputation. A small, versatile gas grill that doesn't compromise on power, the Weber Q300 delivers a total of 21,700 BTUs of heat per hour through its 2 stainless steel burners, and offers a generous 393 square inches of cooking space. Fine-tuning the temperature is extremely easy, and nifty features like a built-in lid thermometer make this one of the best small gas grills you can buy. A weight of just 54.6 lbs further adds to its appeal. The perfect grill for indoor spaces that gives all the power and functionality of a big, 00+ grill.

2. Char Broil Patio Bistro Infrared
This Char Broil model combines the flavor-enhancing design of a charcoal grill with the ease of a gas grill. Though it features a single burner, it delivers 12,000 BTUs of heat per hour. Although it looks small, it still offers over 320 sq. inches of grill area. Lighting up the grill is easy with the built-in electronic ignition, and if you are so inclined, you can even drop in some wood-chips on the cooking grate to add instant smoky flavor. At just 48 lbs, it's easy to take it along on a picnic. Hardcore BBQers might be a bit disappointed with its power output, however.

3. Char Broil Quantum Infrared Urban
Char Broil's "Urban" gas grill range targets the BBQer who doesn't have the luxury of a big backyard and jams in all the power of a big grill into a neat little package. Small but powerful, this grill is ideal for compact spaces. Savor the joys of barbecuing right in your patio and balcony with this small gas grill that features 320 sq. inches of cooking space and an easy to use electronic ignition. For an "urban" grill, you can't really get better than this Char Broil model.

4. Coleman Road Trip LXE
What the LXE lacks in power, it makes up for in portability. Lugging this small gas grill around is effortlessly easy, thanks to its low weight of 60 lbs and compact, collapsible design. With 2 burners, each delivering 10,000 BTUs of power, you won't miss out on power either. If you'd like a gas grill that can be dragged along on a camping trip or stored on board a boat, then you should look no further than this Coleman.

Price: 159.99

5. Weber Q100
The Weber Q100 is about as small and portable as they come. Weighing less than 30 pounds and measuring just 16 x 27 x 23.5 inches (with lid open), this is the 'little gas grill that could'. With a solitary 8,500 BTU steel burner, it may not be powerful enough to satiate the hardcore griller, but is good enough for the average user. If you prize portability and ease of use over power, then this is the grill for you.

A Review of the WEBER Q320 Portable Propane BBQ - Is This the Best Q Series Weber Yet?

!±8± A Review of the WEBER Q320 Portable Propane BBQ - Is This the Best Q Series Weber Yet?

Welcome to the review of the latest flagship model in the Weber Q Range, the Q320 replacing the very good Q300 at the top of the Weber tree.  To beat the Q300 was going to take some serious tweaking of what is a fantastic product, but first let us give you some background on the Q Series and where it is coming from. The Q's are aimed at the sector of the market which dotes on style, functionality, value for money, and above all performance - on all of these points any of the Q series deliver. Good looking, practical, fantastically solid construction, and above all, capable of stunning results with a little effort.

The Q range starts at the smaller end of the scale with the Q100, nicknamed the "Baby Q", but don't be fooled by the name as the Baby Q is a seriously capable little BBQ - perfect for the smaller family and occasional entertaining. Moving on comes the Q120, Q200, Q220, Q300, each iteration growing in size and features until we end up with the Q320, the model which we are reviewing here.

Given the popularity of the Q300 it shouldn't come as a big surprise that the Q320 shares a lot of the key features, a super powerful 21,700 BTU burner, enamel/porcelain covered cast iron griddle plates, folding work tables at either end, a permanently attached cart, thermometer and tools hooks. Both also share a 5 year limited warranty, and both offer instant start ignition, the Q320 being electronic

So what does the Q320 offer for the extra bucks? Well for starters the cooking area is significantly larger at 462sq inches (over 393sq inches on the Q300 - the additional space made up of a warming rack mentioned below), and increase of almost 20%, meaning for entertaining, a LOT more space for cooking and keeping food warm. The most salient addition is the new warming rack, there to keep food warm when cooked - this alone is worth the small premium over the Q300, and I am sure will be a must have addition.

Construction is very solid - the word portable could be misconstrued here, the quality materials and associated weight means the likelihood of packing the Q320 into the car and eating away from home are unlikely, however the materials used are top notch cast aluminum and resin for the grill and cart respectively - durability shouldn't be an issue, and the 5 year guarantee should further ease any fears - it is a Weber after all!

So, how does it perform? In true Weber style, food is succulent, grill and sear marks are good, and from the steaks and burgers we tried over last weekend, a lovely smoky flavor. Cleaning is easy with the porcelain covered grills, and for a modest additional cost there is an optional cover which is highly recommended.

So what is the verdict? I think undoubtedly the best Weber Q barbeque yet, smart, functional, some nice premium tweaks like the warmer and instant lighting. So for everything from dinner for two through to serious entertaining the Weber Q320 is a resounding success.
